Haringey Loft Conversions began with a simple observation: most homeowners in North London have usable attic space they never see. The roofs are there, the potential is there, but the path from loft to liveable room is confusing, expensive and poorly explained.
No cold-call sales pitches, no mystery quotes, no starting and stopping. One team that comes to your home, looks at your roof, talks you through your options and then builds what we agreed.
We set out to change that. No cold-call sales pitches, no mystery quotes, no starting and stopping. One team that comes to your home, looks at your roof, talks you through your options and then builds what we agreed — on time and to a standard we would be happy to put our own names to.
Today our team covers design, structural engineering, planning, building control, scaffolding and finish trades. That end-to-end control is what keeps projects moving and problems visible before they become expensive surprises.
We started small, converting terraced house lofts in Crouch End and Muswell Hill, and grew by doing the unglamorous things properly: turning up on the date we quoted, protecting the rest of the house while we worked, and being honest early if a roof shape meant a dormer would work better than a simple rooflight conversion. Word of mouth did the rest, and most of our current bookings still come from referrals or repeat clients extending a previous project.
We have deliberately stayed a size where the people who scope your job are the same people who are accountable for delivering it. That means when David or Sarah agree a design with you, they are still involved when James is running the build on site, and Paul's contract reflects exactly what was discussed — not a generic template. It is a slower way to grow a business, but it is the only way we have found to keep quality consistent across every single project, whether it is a straightforward rooflight conversion or a full dormer with a new staircase and ensuite.
Working across the same handful of boroughs — Haringey, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Wood Green and Tottenham — also means we genuinely know the housing stock. Victorian terraces, 1930s semis, post-war conversions: each roof type comes with its own quirks, and having converted hundreds of similar properties nearby means fewer surprises once we open up your roof.
