We aim to attend emergency roofing call-outs within 24 hours, prioritising active leaks, storm damage and properties where water is actively entering the building. When you call, we ask about the extent of the damage, whether there are visible missing tiles or slates, and whether the leak is affecting electrics or ceilings. For severe storm damage, we may carry out a temporary repair first (tarping or localised covering) to make the property safe, then schedule the full repair once materials are sourced.
Yes — matching is essential for both visual consistency and often for planning compliance on period properties. We bring sample pieces to your property and source tiles or slates that match in type, colour, size and texture. Where exact matches are no longer manufactured (common with older natural slates), we source reclaimed alternatives or compatible modern equivalents and agree the choice with you before ordering.
We do both — depending on the situation and your preference. On arrival, the first priority is to make the roof safe and prevent further water ingress, which may involve tarping, temporary flashings or removing loose tiles. Once the situation is stable, we carry out the permanent repair. Some customers want us to handle everything immediately; others prefer to have the full repair scheduled for later. We explain the options clearly on-site and provide a written quote before any work begins.
Yes. For most roof repairs we can work from roof ladders and harness systems, which are faster to set up and less disruptive. Scaffolding is needed for more extensive work such as full re-roofing sections, chimney repairs, or working at height on a steep pitch. We organise all scaffolding including any public highway notifications if the scaffold needs to encroach onto the pavement, and we factor the cost into the quote rather than surprising you mid-project.
Many home insurance policies cover emergency roofing repairs, particularly when the damage results from sudden events such as storms, fallen trees or accidental damage. Wear and tear, gradual deterioration and lack of maintenance are typically excluded. We provide the kind of detailed report and fixed-price quote that insurers require — including photos, a diagnosis of the cause, and a scope of works — and we can help you understand whether your specific policy is likely to respond before you claim.
Yes. All emergency roof repairs are guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months on both materials and labour. For larger repairs such as re-roofing sections or leadwork, we often provide a longer guarantee — typically 2 to 10 years depending on the scope and materials used. The guarantee terms are explained in writing before work begins, and we honour them without argument if something goes wrong within the guarantee period.
